Vaughan Regional Medical Center announces latest expansion
Total capital improvements for 2007 exceed $10 million
Selma, AL. December 19, 2007 - Vaughan Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the completion of our latest construction project which includes our new Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
The new patient recovery unit is the latest addition to the recently opened 17,000 square foot Surgery Center at Vaughan that was unveiled earlier this year. The new PACU provides eight fully-equipped patient recovery areas which incorporates 1,400 additional square feet of patient care space to allow surgery patients to now recover within the Surgery Center.
Vaughan's Chief Executive Officer Barry Keel said, "Our new Post-Anesthesia Care Unit will compliment the exceptional care that our Surgery Center, Operating Room and Recovery Unit employees provide to our patients everyday. With the completion of this latest expansion project, our total capital improvements at Vaughan for 2007 now exceed $10.5 million for the year. This is an exciting time to be part of the Vaughan family as we continue to enhance our patient care environment with state-of-the-art facilities and medical technologies. Though our employees are our most important asset at Vaughan, these new modern technology upgrades will allow us to better meet the medical needs of our region as we continue to raise the level of care at Vaughan in every respect."
